For the first time since 1970, the Kansas City Chiefs became Super Bowl champions Sunday night in Miami defeating the San Francisco 49ers 31-20.

Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who came alive late, the Chiefs pulled away with three straight touchdown drives in the fourth quarter erasing a 10 point lead by the 49ers. Kansas would score 21 unanswered points before declaring victory over the favored 49ers.

This is the first championship win for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid who until tonight was the most winningest coach in football history to not have a Super Bowl championship under his belt. Patrick Mahomes now becomes at 24 years old the youngest player ever to win both MVP and a Super Bowl title.
