NY Giants QB Eli Manning Retires After 16 Seasons in NFL
Two-time Super Bowl Champion and MVP Eli Manning announced Friday he would be retiring from the NFL after 16 seasons as the quarterback for the New York Giants.
“Ultimately, I truly believed my teammates and the fans learned to appreciate that. They knew what they got was pure, unadulterated Eli. I don't have any regrets and I won't look in the rear-view mirror,” Manning told the crowd at an emotional press conference, thanking the New York/New Jersey Giants fans and the football organization he spent the entirety of his professional football career.
The four-time Pro Bowl selection led the Giants to win two Super Bowls in 2007 and 2011 both against the heavily favored New England Patriots.
GIant’s co-owner John Mara confirmed that Mannings jersey would be retired telling the media, “No Giant will ever wear No. 10 again.”
