2020 Academy Awards Nominations
The 2020 Academy Award nominations were announced Monday morning at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles, hosted by John Cho and Issa Rae. The top film was Joker with 11 Oscar nominations followed by The Irishman with ten nods. Both are up for best picture along with Little Women, Marriage Story, 1917, Parasite, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Ford vs. Ferrari, and Jojo Rabbit.
In the acting categories, Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks are up for the best supporting actor trophy, while Kathy Bates and Laura Dern are included in the supporting actress race. Nominees for lead actress include Renee Zellweger and Scarlett Johansson who notably was also nominated in the supporting category as well. The lead actor competition has Leonardo DiCaprio, Antonio Banderas, and Joaquin Phoenix in the running.
The hostless ceremony will air live on February 6 in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theater. The Oscars are one of the most-watched events on television, bringing in 26.9 million viewers for last year. Full list of nominees below.
